How do I use my Kinchkard?
1. Buy your Kinchkard from the driver or online, we’ve got great options for everyone
2. Simply touch your Kinchkard on the side of the ticket machine when you get on the bus and see the ((K))
3. You will see a green light to confirm that your Kinchkard is good to use for the journey. If you see a yellow light it’s our reminder to you to top up. And if you see a red light your Kinchkard has run out of credit
4. When your Kinchkard runs out don’t throw it away, just ask the driver and they will be able to top it up again. You can also top up online at Kinchbus.co.uk.
Where can I get my Kinchkard from?
It’s really simple. Kinchkard can be bought on the bus from one of our friendly drivers, or online.
How do I know when my Kinchkard is running low?
When your Kinchkard begins to run low when you touch your card on the ticket machine a yellow light will appear. This tells you that you have either two or less trips remaining, or when you have 2 or less days remaining.
Can I load on more than 10 trips onto my Kinchkard?
Yes, you can load up to 20 trips onto your Kinchkard. For example if you have 5 trips left you can ask the driver to top-up another 10 to give you a total of 15 trips remaining. They must be the same kind of trips though. (i.e. you cannot have Nottingham to Loughborough trips and Loughborough to Leicester trips on the same Kinchkard)
Can I load more than 28 days worth of credit onto my Kinchkard?
Yes, just ask the driver to take off as many trips as you need for all your friends. Unfortunately you cannot do this with 28 day or longer period products.
Can I check my trips online?
Yes, simply go online and create an account. This will allow you to manage your card, top up, view your journey history and receive special offers.
How do I know how many trips I have left?
When you touch your Kinchkard on the ticket machine it will tell you either how many trips you have left or the expiry date of your ticket.
How do I know when I’m close to my expiry date?
When you are within 2 days of your expiry date the ticket machine will show you a yellow light to remind you to top up.
What happens if I lose my Kinchkard?
If you have registered your Kinchkard and have an account with us we will be able to replace the existing balance onto a new card and send it out to you. Unfortunately if you haven’t registered your Kinchkard we are unable to do this – so we’d suggest you register, it’s worth it.
Can I change my 10 trip for a 28 day ticket?
You can change from a 10 trip to a 28 day ticket (or vice versa) once all the remaining journeys or days of the previous ticket have run out.
Can I have more than one ticket type on my Kinchkard?
You can re-use your Kinchkard and change your ticket type, but you can’t have two different ticket types on one card. If you need two different tickets at the same time that’s no problem just ask the driver for another Kinchkard.
Can I top up my Kinchkard online?
Yes, you can create an account which help you to view your journey history, and view the remaining balance.
Can I buy my Kinchkard on the bus?
Of course, just ask the driver and they will give you a Kinchkard or top up an old one
Do I need to register my Kinchkard?
You don’t have to register your Kinchkard although we suggest you do. If you don’t create an account you will not benefit from special offers, service updates, latest news and most importantly if you lose your card we can’t replace it with all the outstanding tickets on it.
What is the best ticket option for me?
There are many options depending on which Kinchbus services you use although our ticket types fit into two main categories; 10 trip tickets and 28 day unlimited travel tickets.
• 10 trip tickets – are valid for 10 journeys on your specified route. These journeys have no expiry date.
• 28 day unlimited ticket – valid for 28 days unlimited travel, all ticket types also include unlimited connections to any Kinchbus within Loughborough town

Are there student and child options?
It only normally takes a few days but should never take longer than 5 working days. Sometimes student Kinchkards can take a little longer as we have to confirm attendance at your school, college or university before we can send it out to you.
How long does it take for my credit to be added to my Kinchkard?
If you top up online it takes no longer than 24hours for your credit to be added. If you top up on the bus it happens instantly.
