From Monday 20th to Friday 31st October, the A6 between Birstall and Loughborough will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am for up to 12 nights, including weekends, while Severn Trent Water carry out essential works.
To keep you moving, skylink Derby will be diverting non-stop in both directions during the closures. The works will be completed in two phases:
🚧 Phase 1 – Southbound Closure (towards Leicester)
🗓️ Evening of 20 October to morning of 26 October

Slip road to Birstall to resume normal route
🚧 Phase 2 – Northbound Closure (towards Loughborough)

Granite Way past Waitrose to rejoin the A6
⏱️ Delays are likely, and we’ll monitor conditions on Slash Lane in case flooding affects the route. If needed, we’ll adjust plans to keep you moving.
🕐 Outside of these hours, skylink Derby will run as normal along the A6.
